These terms are the agreement between you and 920four (“we”) for using Met — the website at met.fyi and the Met apps for iOS and Android. By creating an account or using Met you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains what we store and is part of these terms.
What Met is
Met is a private notebook for the people you meet: a name, a note and, optionally, where you met. Your notes are shown only to you. Met is not a contacts sync, a social network or a directory, and nothing you save is visible to other users.
Your account
- You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. There is no password. Keep access to that email address secure — anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
- You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for consenting to an online service where you live, whichever is higher.
- You can delete your account at any time from Settings. That removes your login and every person you saved, and cannot be undone.
Your notes
- Everything you write in Met is yours. You give us only the permission we need to store it and show it back to you, on whichever device you sign in from.
- We don't read your notes for advertising, analytics or model training.
- You are responsible for what you write. Don't use Met to harass, stalk or track anyone, to store information you have no right to hold, or for anything unlawful.
Met Pro subscription
- Free accounts keep up to 3 people. Met Pro removes that limit.
- Met Pro is an auto-renewing subscription with a term of 1 year. The price is shown in the app before you buy — US$2.00 per year in the United States, with the equivalent local price elsewhere.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically for another year at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You manage and cancel the subscription in your device's subscription settings (App Store or Google Play), not in Met. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Pro until the paid period ends. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
- If you cancel or a renewal fails, your account returns to the free plan. Nothing is deleted — you keep every person you saved, and can add more again once you are under the free limit or resubscribe.
If you use Met on iOS
The iOS app is licensed to you under Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These Terms of Use cover the Met service itself; where the two conflict for the iOS app, Apple's agreement controls.
Acceptable use
Don't try to break Met, access other people's accounts or notes, overload or scrape the service, or reverse-engineer the apps beyond what the law allows. We may suspend or close accounts that do.
Changes
Met is a small, evolving product. We may change or discontinue features, and we may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when. If a change matters, we'll say so in the app or by email. Continuing to use Met after a change means you accept it. Export your data from Settings whenever you want a copy.
Disclaimer and liability
Met is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties about it and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you for anything arising from Met is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights that the law where you live does not let us limit.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, unless the consumer law where you live gives you more protection.
